Privacy policy for our photo identifier apps.

Who this policy covers

PixelCrest Labs operates the Android apps below, using package names beginning with com.pixelcrest. This policy applies to their saved collections and online photo identification service.

Records on your device

Photos you save, collection records, names you enter in preferences, journal notes, dates, tags and favourites are stored locally on your device. They are not automatically uploaded to us. No account is required. Bundled reference guides and collection tools work offline. Android or device backup services may also back up local app data under your device settings and their own policies.

When you choose Identify

The app sends only the selected identification photos (up to three views), its app identifier, a request identifier and a hashed device identifier to our Cloudflare-hosted identification service over HTTPS. Our service forwards selected photos to OpenRouter and a supported AI provider to generate a possible match and visual details. We do not upload your entire photo library or your collection and journal merely because you use the app.

The device identifier is derived from Google Play’s developer-scoped App Set ID where available, or a device identifier supplied by Android as a fallback. Our service hashes it again with a server-side secret. We use it to coordinate usage controls across these apps and prevent duplicate requests and abuse. We do not use it for advertising.

Cloudflare and AI services may process connection information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and secure network requests. Photos may contain personal information visible in the image. Avoid submitting images containing private information you do not want an AI provider to process.

Service providers and purposes

Cloudflare provides hosting, request processing and security. OpenRouter routes identification requests to AI providers. These providers process selected photos and request content to return identification results. We request providers that meet OpenRouter’s no-data-collection routing option. This is not a promise that third-party infrastructure retains no operational data. Provider processing and legally required retention follow their own policies: Cloudflare and OpenRouter.

We use data for app functionality, identification, reliability, security and abuse prevention. The apps contain no advertising SDKs. We do not sell personal information or use identification photos for our own model training.

Retention

Our service does not persist the uploaded image files in a photo database or object storage. It keeps a limited request ledger containing a hashed device routing identifier, app identifier, request identifier, request digest, timestamp and outcome for up to 30 days, followed by scheduled or request-triggered cleanup. Cleanup may run within the following daily cycle. Returned identification text is cached temporarily to handle retries: the cache is eligible for clearing after 10 minutes and is cleared on a subsequent request or daily cleanup, so an idle cache may remain for approximately one day. Infrastructure providers may have their own operational and legal retention requirements.

Locally saved records remain until you delete them, clear app data or uninstall the app. Independently created exports and backups remain wherever you save or share them.

Camera, photo access and exports

Camera access is used when you choose to take a photo. Photo selection is used when you import images for a record or identification. You can deny or revoke permissions in Android settings. Exports contain records and, for complete backups, photos and notes. You decide where to save or share them; anyone with an exported file may be able to read it. We do not receive an export automatically.

Your choices and deletion

Use collection controls to delete individual records and their local photos, and journal controls to delete notes. Clear storage in Android settings or uninstall to remove remaining local app data. Delete exported files and device backups separately if you no longer want them. You can keep records without using online identification. To ask about service data, contact ewordpress63@gmail.com; include a request identifier if available. Because server identifiers are hashed and no account exists, we may need limited additional information to locate a request. Do not send passwords or confidential photos in a support request.

Security and international processing

Identification traffic uses HTTPS and provider API credentials stay on the server. Access controls, validation and service usage controls reduce misuse. No system can guarantee absolute security. Hosting and AI processing may take place outside your country, including through international infrastructure.

Children and identification accuracy

These apps are intended for adult hobbyists and collectors, not directed at children. We do not knowingly seek children’s personal information. AI suggestions may be incorrect or incomplete; they are not confirmation of safety, authenticity, value, provenance, compatibility or professional advice. Review each suggested match before relying on it.
